StarLadder Ultimate Series: Players and coverage

StarLadder Ultimate Series is already starting next weekend, on September 29 and 30: the winners of the Amateur Series in CIS, Europe, and North America will clash with the best players of their regions in the final part of the competition. Here we will describe system of the tournament and let you know full list of the participants and the casters.

The Amateur Series ended with a competition of Grandmaster league players, which was also a qualifier to the Ultimate Series. This let us finalize the participants list.

  • Europe (RU)

    • The Ultimate Series 2018 Season 1 winners: Rail (P), BratOK (T), HellRaiseR (P), Kas (T)

    • The Amateur Series winners: Bly (Z), DIMAGA (Z), Bee (Z), SKillous (P)

  • Europe (EN)

    • WCS Challenger EU winners: Serral (Z), Elazer (Z), uThermal (T), MaNa (P) (replaced Lambo who declined his spot)

    • The Amateur Series winners: SouL (T), PappiJoe (P), Reynor (Z), InZaNe (T)

  • North America

    • WCS Challenger NA winners: Neeb (P), Scarlett (Z), TRUE (Z), MaSa (T)

    • The Amateur Series winners: Future (T), Jardozer (Z), Cuddlebear (T), puCK (P)

In CIS the famous DIMAGA and BratOK advanced, along with newcomers Bee and SKillous, who are already well-known by local fans. In Europe we’ll have PappiJoe and InZaNe facing the recognized leaders of the foreign pro-scene, including the rising star Reynor and of course the number one favourite Serral. In the North America one of the main tournament dark horses Jardozer and the rising US star Future (who is only 16 years old) qualified to fight against such opponents as Neeb, Scarlett and TRUE.

Tournament system

Each region is played as a separate Swiss Triple Elimination group stage. Each player will play one match per round against a player with the same current score (except the Round 3 where one player with 2-1 score will play against a player with 1-2 score). Every competitor needs 3 wins to advance to playoffs, and players with 3 defeats are eliminated.

In playoffs winners of all regions will meet each other in the Single Elimination brackets. All Ultimate Series matches will be Best of 5 except for the final, which will be a Best of 7.
